The New Mini Clubvan... Why would you want one?

(Photos are property of Mini Cooper)

Mini Cooper has released a new variation of the Clubman this week called the clubvan. This is the newest addition to the Mini lineup set to be revealed in Geneva but was leaked this week to the public. Now do not jump to the conclusion that Mini is releasing a new minivan. This is the exact opposite. What you see here is the Mini interpretation of a panel van... I am not sure they have ever seen one, but here we are.

What separates this from a regular Clubman besides name is the removal of the second row (leaving a flat load floor) and a grated partition separating the front seats from the rear. The issue with this car is that it is not very worker friendly. At most I could see this as maybe a pet transport vehicle if they can afford it or for a home designer that does not carry anything sharp. The sidewalls and load floor are covered in anthracite-colored cloth rather than a durable plastic compound. For this reason you will see mini marketing towards designers and galleries as opposed to your general sheetrock contractor.

Will this vehicle actually be successful? Who knows. I would bet on no. I do feel this vehicle will make it to production since it is just a Clubman without a rear seat and a honeycomb partition installed. Best of luck to Mini and whatever idiot decides to spend their hard earned money on this.
